A Great Day

I haven't had a fun day in awhile.  I've had fun here and there, but it's just been a season of blah.  My friend Heidi, without knowing it, rescued me today and suggested we go to lunch and shop.  It was so great.  We met up at The Cheesecake Factory for lunch, and then shopped at the connected mall.  The mall was packed.  There was some Chinese festival thing going on or something.  I hadn't been to the mall in ages.  The last time I went Chuck and his brother dropped me off, and then called like two seconds later to see if I was done yet.  Sheesh.

Heidi is the kind of friend where I feel like our conversation never runs dry.  And I learned about her today that she's not a clingy shopping friend.  We can both go to our separate sections of a store to browse and meet back somewhere in the middle without even saying anything.  I ended up finding Chuck's Valentines Day gifts, which I'm pretty excited about.  Here's a hint: practical.  Practical gifts really float his boat.

We also stopped at Caribou for iced teas because there's something about shopping that makes me feel parched.  And because Caribou reminds me of MN and there are only two in this area- both about 15 miles away from us.  Nothing like their Mango iced teas....mmmm!

Oh yay.  Two things about The Cheesecake Factory.  1.)  Their menu is like a novel!  It's so hard to pick.  2.)  Whatever meal you do pick, you're sure to have left overs!  I just remembered that I spilled my water today all over our table.  Heidi and I both got a great laugh out of it because her husband Joe and I are both proned (can't find the correct spelling!) to trip, slop, drop, stub, and yes spill.  I had to use my big cloth napkin to clean up all the water.  When I asked the waiter for another napkin he brought me over this tiny, paper, cocktail napkin.  It was comical!  Three waiters later I finally got my cloth napkin.

Anyway, it was great to have a fun girl day.  Thanks for treating, friend!

I'm jealous. Just moved to Ukraine. I had no idea how much I would miss American FOOD.

And mall shopping? Forget about it. Enjoy it!
